A journey back in time to the ancient texts of the Huainanzi, legend tells the tale of the Chinese goddess, NüWa. The creator of mankind itself, she breathed beauty and life into the world. After a great battle between deities fractured the pillars of Heaven, it was NüWa who restored them.

Smelting together five colourful stones representing the elements, she filled the fracture in the sky and saved humanity from devastation. Revered as the protector of life, the legendary figure of NüWa remains a favourite subject for Chinese artists.
